MEMBERS BE IMPRINTED! LINKS

Saskatoon Christian Writers gather monthly
for encouragement and instruction in the craft of writing.

  WELCOME

God has placed His Imprint on your life.

Whether you write: adult fiction, children's literature, devotionals, inspirational articles, internet blogs, lyrics, nonfiction, poetry, textbooks, or another genre,

Whether you write: for an audience or just for yourself,

Whether you have seen your work in print or you dream of that day,

God’s imprint is on your writing.

We’d love to have you join us as we develop our writing skills for God’s glory.

Our Meetings

First Monday of each month (when the first Monday is a holiday we will meet the second Monday)

1:00 - 3:00pm

For Location and Other Information

While we presently meet in the afternoon, with enough interest and a facilitator, an evening meeting could also be an option. Our meetings are always open to newcomers.

Our Agenda

Agenda for the meeting may include:

  • a short devotional

  • updates from members

  • a short writing exercise

  • a lesson on a writing theme

  • time for readings (sharing or critiques – author’s choice)

We look forward to seeing you there.

Along with our monthly inspiration meetings, Imprint occasionally plans local writing retreats, seminars, or conferences. (Watch this page for information on special events.)

ALL ARE WELCOME!

Membership

Membership in Imprint is FREE.

At this time we do not have a membership fee, though we do take a donation at each meeting to offset the costs of seminars and this website.

Membership is free, but based on regular attendance at our meetings.

We also try to maintain an e-mail and phone list for those who are unable to regularly come to our monthly meetings but wish to remain in contact and support Imprint.

Our Members

Our members are of all kinds...

Some write for their living, others journal for the joy of words. Some are published authors, some are seeking to be published, some publish their writing on web blogs, and others write but do not share their work. Some write for the secular field, others for the religious market, and others only for their family.

Our Current Writers

Janice Dick

Jan joined the Saskatoon Christian Writers group in 2002, shortly before her first book came out.  She has since published a trilogy of historical fiction and is presently working on a contemporary fiction book. Janice lives on a farm near Lanigan with her husband. They have two married daughters, one son, and three grandchildren. Janice says, “I have committed to attending His Imprint on a regular basis because I need contact with other writers who are Christian. I've learned a lot from the group, but most importantly, we "spur one another on" through our meetings.”

Ruth Keighley

Ruth is a self-published author of her journey of healing, entitled Healing for the Unquiet Mind.

Marnie Pohlmann

Marnie has been a member of the Saskatoon Christian Writers group since 2002. She is married with two adult children. Her love of writing has provided healing, joy, and growth in her walk with God.

Robin Sloboda

Robin loves to write, bringing glory to God and sharing her heart with others. Currently her passion is writing devotionals, but poetry is still her favourite genre. She lives in Saskatoon, SK with her husband, Murray. They have four children. Her desire was to find a group to share her thoughts and glean from others. His Imprint has fulfilled this dream since 2002.

Sulo Vinayagamoorthy

Sulo is a freelance writer and a member of InScribe Christian Writer's Fellowship. She writes the devotional column for FellowScript, a quarterly magazine-style newsletter published by InScribe. Her poems and inspirational articles have been published in FellowScript, Our Family, Mennonite Brethren Herald, Edmonton Journal, Living Light News, Partners and Cross and Quill. She lives with her family in Saskatoon.

Maylane Wong

Born in Saskatchewan, musician-songwriter Maylane injects an element of quiet pathos and passion into all her work. Songs include: No Tender Embrace, a lament; Arise, Come My Beloved, in English and French; and Prairie Spirit, a song for Saskatchewan's Centennial.  Maylane enjoys learning new languages, playing Scrabble, cooking with family and friends, and has recently discovered the joy of dance.

Linda Wegner

Founder and Honorary Lifetime Member.

Be IMPRINTED by the WORD

May God richly bless you as you write for Him.

That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works. (Psalm 26:7)

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Therefore, do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord. (2 Timothy 1:7-8)

My heart is overflowing with a good theme; I recite my composition concerning the King; my tongue is the pen of a ready writer. (Psalm 45:1)

Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth; unite my heart to fear Your name. I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and I will glorify Your name forevermore. (Psalms 86:11-12)

Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law. (Psalm 119:18)
