2010 Fall Contest

Categories & Word Limits

Enter Poetry: Rhymed – up to 60 lines
Enter Youth Fiction – 1000 words
Enter Devotional – 500 words
Enter

Essay to Theme (2 options)
    “What InScribe has Meant to Me” OR
    “Reflections on Faith and Art” – 2000 words

 

CONTEST RULES >

  • You may enter as many times as you wish, as long as you send a cover sheet and entry fee for each entry.
  • Entries must be original and unpublished, and not entered in any previous InScribe or ACWF contest. Simultaneous submissions are NOT acceptable.
  • Your name must not appear on the manuscript. Type your name, address and title of your manuscript on a separate cover sheet for each manuscript submitted. Important!
  • Type your manuscript in proper submission form with 1" margins and double-spacing (except for poetry).
  • Include word count please.
  • Send a SASE (self-addressed, stamped envelope) of a sufficient size with sufficient postage to return your entry, unless you plan to be at the Fall Conference in Edmonton in September and can pick up your entries then. If you mailed it in a 9” x 12” envelope, please send SASE the same size. If mailing an entry from outside Canada, use International Reply Coupons rather than your country's postage.
  • Entries must be postmarked  AUGUST 13, 2010. Late entries will be discarded.
  • Mark clearly on envelope “ICWF Fall Contest.”
  • Failure to comply with any of the above rules may result in disqualification of your manuscript with no refund of your entry fees.

ENTRY FEES >

  • Youth writers (under 18): No entry fee if age is indicated on entry form.
  • Winners will be announced at the Fall Conference in Edmonton AB, September 25 & 26.
  • Winning entries may be read or displayed at that event.
  • Acceptance of a first place prize grants FellowScript publication rights to the award winning manuscript, at the discretion of the editorial staff.
  • Awards are at the discretion of the judges and all prizes will not necessarily be awarded. This is to encourage quality workmanship in your entries.
  • Judges and officials will not enter into discussion or disputes regarding decisions or awards.
  • Entry fee is $10.00 per entry. Anyone wanting a critique must pay an extra $5.00.

  • First: Cash $100 + publication in FellowScript
  • Second: $50
  • Third: $30.
  • Certificates included with all prizes and Honorable Mentions.
